High School: Excellence in Mastery

Our high school program is structured to prepare scholars for higher education and the workforce. Our curriculum builds upon the strong foundation developed in previous years and challenges scholars to achieve academic excellence in core subjects while providing opportunities for specialization through Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses. Our scholars are encouraged to explore their interests and talents and are given guidance on how to succeed beyond high school.

Instructional Technology

21st-century learning needs robust instructional technology. With SMART boards in every classroom and laptops available to all, Avant scholars are given the tools they need to gain a competitive edge

Comprehensive Curriculum

Our elementary school curriculum is carefully designed to provide a quality education that focuses on the core subjects of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Foreign Languages, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Technology provide a well-rounded educational experience.

Individualized Support

Our teachers work closely with each elementary school scholar to assess their needs and use a variety of teaching methods to ensure that all scholars are engaged and challenged at their level. Tutoring and counseling services ensure that every scholar has the support they need to succeed.

Avant High School Curriculum

Our science and mathematics programs focus on developing skills through hands-on learning experiences. Scholars explore math concepts with problem-solving, logical reasoning, and real-world applications. The scientific process and various scientific methods are used to guide scholars through the physical and natural world.

Language Arts
The language arts program emphasizes reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Students learn to analyze and interpret a variety of texts, write clear and effective sentences and paragraphs, and communicate their ideas effectively through both spoken and written language.

Social Studies
The social studies program focuses on helping young scholars develop an understanding of history, geography, and culture. Scholars explore the world around them, learn about different cultures and traditions, and develop a sense of global citizenship.

Foreign Languages
Introductory courses in foreign languages give young scholars an early exposure to different languages and cultures. Our elementary language courses are designed to develop basic speaking, listening, and comprehension skills.

Fine Arts
Our fine arts program provides scholars with opportunities to explore their creativity through music, art, and drama. Young scholars learn to express themselves through a variety of mediums and develop skills in critical analysis and self-reflection.

Physical Education
We designed our physical education program to promote health and wellness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students participate in a variety of sports and activities that help develop gross motor skills and promote physical fitness.

Beyond the Classroom: Enriching Annual Events

Avant Schools of Excellence provides a variety of opportunities for scholars to engage in extracurricular activities and events throughout the academic year. From the annual Spelling Bee Competition to the ASE Night of Stars, our scholars are encouraged to showcase their talents and achievements. We also have two annual field trips for each grade level, career days, and college tours to expose our scholars to a variety of career paths and higher education opportunities. Safety Patrols also have the chance to visit Washington D.C. to represent the Avant Schools.

“My teachers make school fun. We do so many projects and activities and get to go on fun field trips. I always say good morning to the principal and she makes me feel special!”

“Avant is a family school. A place where everybody knows everybody, no one’s a stranger. I’ve been here for 3 years and I love my teachers and the fact that the school has given me some of my best friends ever!”

“I just started middle school in Texas after spending 5 years in elementary school at Avant. I feel very prepared moving to a new school, like I am ahead of pace in most of my coursework. I’m able to help other kids in my class understanding certain things we’re working on.”
